Empowering Families To Achieve Their Breastfeeding Goals

Meet Andrée

Co-founder of The Confident Latch, Andrée has a passion for helping moms & babies through evidenced-based lactation assistance.

Andrée Schell, MN, RN, IBCLC

Growing up on the east side of Cleveland, a passion for photography and art led Andrée to acquire her Bachelors of Fine Art at Bowling Green State University. It was there she met her husband, Mike, also an artist.

After giving birth to their son, Andrée initially struggled with breastfeeding (painful latch, tissue damage, thrush). Thankfully, she had a team of supportive women and lactation consultants by her side, and she was able to reach her breastfeeding goals. It was this experience that changed her path from art to nursing.

Graduating from Case Western Reserve University with a Masters of Nursing, Andrée began a career as a Registered Nurse and Lactation Consultant at a local hospital. She has since obtained her International Board Certification as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and is working on Master IBCLC certification. She still works at the hospital and in their outpatient offices, but finds great joy in working with patients in their homes and virtually. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and expertise with local breastfeeding families.

Andrée, Mike and their son enjoy traveling, golf and relaxing with their pets.
