Empowering Families To Achieve Their Breastfeeding Goals

Meet Katelyn

Co-founder of The Confident Latch, Katelyn hopes to share her wealth of knowledge to benefit women in their breastfeeding journeys.

Katelyn Millard, RN, IBCLC

Katelyn became a registered nurse at the Cleveland Clinic in 2008. When she graduated from Malone College, she imagined working as a bedside nurse with adults. However, motherhood changed her life and her career path.

Katelyn’s first baby opened her eyes to the beautiful relationship and bond that can be formed with breastfeeding. On the flip side, breastfeeding her second child was extremely challenging with his tongue tie and colic. As a result, she turned to a lactation consultant and a breastfeeding support group, and she witnessed the importance of the role of a lactation consultant in a desperate, exhausted, vulnerable mom’s life.

Katelyn became a postpartum nurse while taking education courses to become a lactation consultant. She then passed her International Board Certified in Lactation. Katelyn has also completed the Master IBCLC certification. In addition to working at The Confident Latch, Katelyn works both inpatient and outpatient for a local hospital.
